Hi, I’m Emily.
Therapist, practice owner, human.
I believe therapy can be deeply meaningful without feeling formal or intimidating. You can cry here. You can laugh here. You can say the thing you’ve been afraid to say out loud. You can also tell me when something isn’t working for you.
This is your therapy. We’re in it together.

So, what’s therapy with me actually like?
Will you challenge me?
Yes, but kindly. My job isn’t to agree with everything you say. Sometimes therapy means helping you notice something you haven’t seen before or encouraging you to try something that feels uncomfortable at first. We’ll do that together, and you’ll always have a say in where we go.
Do we have to be serious all the time?
Absolutely not. We may talk about really difficult things, but that doesn’t mean every minute of therapy has to feel heavy. Humor is welcome here. Sometimes laughing together is a part of the work.
What if I don’t know what to talk about?
That’s okay. You don’t need to arrive with an agenda or a perfectly articulated therapy goal. Some weeks you’ll know exactly what you want to talk about. Other weeks we’ll figure it out together.
Will you give me things to work on between sessions?
Sometimes. We may practice skills, notice patterns, try something new, or put into practice something we’ve talked about during the week.
